Protravel Building a Village in Rwanda to celebrate its 25th Anniversary in 2009
Protravel is embarking on a year long drive to create a Protravel Village
in Rwanda to mark our 25th Anniversary in 2009. Partnering with FXB International, a non
profit organization, our goal of $182,000 will fully fund a three-year project establishing
a self-sufficient village with a future of permanent stability.
FXB International in Rwanda was established in 1995 in the wake of the AIDS
pandemic and devastation from the genocide to provide support to families and communities
faced with the challenges of caring for thousands of orphans and vulnerable children left
homeless. In addition to reintegrating orphans into foster families, the FXB Village Model
Program provides health care, education, counseling, legal support, small enterprise grants
and vocational training.
It takes only $110 to totally support one person per year. Our mission is to change the lives of 80 to 100 families, or approximately 500 individuals, mostly children, with a basic package of sustainable enrichment to escape poverty permanently. It is a small price to pay for a big return.
100% of the funds raised will go directly to the village. All donations are 100% tax deductible.
